How Handwriting Engraving Works

1. Choose your options. Select "Just Compass" or add the leather case, then choose which sides to engrave.
2. Write and photograph. Write your message on blank (unlined) paper with a dark pen and take a clear photo of it.
3. Upload. Add the photo in the image field for the side you want engraved. You can mix sides: handwriting inside and a typed name or date on the back.
4. We engrave and ship. Your compass is engraved in our workshop and shipped within 1 business day.

Tips for the Best Result

• Use a dark pen (black is best) on plain white paper
• Photograph in daylight, straight from above, with no shadows
• Make sure the whole note is in the frame and in focus
• Short notes of a few lines engrave most clearly
• For an old card or letter, take a sharp, close-up photo of just the words. Faded or worn handwriting is fine, we can work with it.

This is a mechanical magnetic compass. Release the side lock and the red needle points North. Line it up with the N on the dial to find East, South and West. Lock the needle when not in use to protect it.
