How to Choose a Personalized Compass

Every SFdizayn compass starts as the same solid brass pocket compass: fully functional, 1.96 inches (5 cm) across, with an antique finish, a chain and a side lock. What makes it his is the design on the lid and the words you put inside. Here is how to choose.

Start with the occasion

  • Graduation: a message about the road ahead. See the graduation compass.
  • Baptism, confirmation or First Communion: a cross on the lid and a Bible verse inside. See all Christian gifts.
  • Anniversary: the coordinates of where you met, or a line only the two of you understand. See the anniversary compass.
  • Retirement: a thank-you for the journey so far. See the retirement compass.

Decide what goes where

You can engrave up to three sides. Most people put a name, initials or a symbol on the front lid, the main message inside the lid, where he reads it every time he opens the compass, and a date on the back. Add the optional leather case and we engrave it too.

Is it a real, working compass?

Yes. It is a fully functional magnetic compass made of solid brass with an antique finish, 1.96 inches (5 cm) across, with a chain and side lock.

How many characters can I engrave?

Up to 140 characters on the front lid, 140 inside the lid and 50 on the back. The optional leather case holds up to 20 characters.

Can you engrave a photo or my own handwriting?

Yes. Upload a photo, a child’s drawing or a handwritten note in the image field for any side, and we engrave it exactly as it is.

How fast will it arrive?

Every compass is engraved and shipped within 1 business day. Delivery to the USA, Canada, UK, Europe and Australia takes 3–4 business days, with no customs fees on delivery.

Does it come ready to give?

Yes. Each compass is packed in a gift pouch, ready to give, and there is no price inside the package.
